Jesse Crenshaw Lenovo has quietly announced its new premium tablet on the Chinese home market. The novelty is called Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 and boasts a large AMOLED display with high refresh rate and fast charging. But first things first.
The new Lenovo tablet is encased in an all-metal body with a two-tone color. Its dimensions are 285.61 by 184.53 by 5.63 mm, and the tablet weighs 565 grams together with all the stuffing. On the front of the device has a 12.6-inch AMOLED display made by Samsung E4. It has a resolution of 2560 by 1600 dots, 120 Hz refresh rate, 360 Hz sampling rate, 600 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and supports HDR10, HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. Inside the tablet is a sub-flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is accompanied by 8 GB of memory type LPDDR and 256 GB of internal memory format UFS 3.1. The tablet runs Android 11 mobile operating system, on top of which the manufacturer has installed proprietary firmware ZUI 13 for Pad.
On the back of the tablet there is a 13-megapixel main camera, complemented by a 5-megapixel module with an ultra-wide-angle lens. At the front, an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls, combined with a face-recognition ToF sensor, hides in the frame above the display.
The Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 has a 10,200mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 charging up to 45W through the USB Type-C port for battery life. True, the tablet comes with a 30W power adapter. Other features of the Chinese brand’s new tablet include four JBL stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 port, a fingerprint scanner built into the power button on the side, a magnetic connector for a keyboard and a microSD card slot. There is also support for a second-generation Xiaoxin stylus.
The first wave of Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 sales is scheduled for November 10. Prices will start at 4,299 yuan or $672 at the current exchange rate, but the first customers will be able to buy it at a discounted price of just 3,699 yuan or $578. The tablet can be purchased with a stylus for 399 yuan or $62, a keyboard for 649 yuan or $94 and a protective case for 119 yuan or $19.
